I enjoy tutoring because I truly want to help students improve in the area of reading. When a student is behind in reading, it is detrimental to their ability to be successful. I have specific intervention training in reading comprehension strategies and on demand prompt writing. I also have training in improving writing, specifically essays. I have tutored in the past and currently tutor one student. I specifically can use diagnostic tests to assess reading strengths and weaknesses. I then design lessons tailored to that student. I normally work with students behind in reading by one to two grade levels. I have successfully improved students' grade level reading through tutoring and teaching reading intervention.
